A Royal Wedding in London!

As you all know, on Friday 29th April 2011 we bore witness to a ROYAL WEEDING in United Kingdom. It was a beautiful ceremony in a perfect environment.
I would have loved to be in Buckingham Palace waving a Union Jack flag or
inside the Abbey with a new hat!
Here it is the invitation for the wedding with our names on it:

The wedding of Prince William of Wales and Catherine “Kate” Middleton took place at Westminster Abbey. William, who is second in the line of succession to Queen Elizabeth II, first met Middleton in 2001, while he and Catherine were studying at the University of St Andrews, in Scotland. Don't you think they look very happy?

Catherine in her wedding dress and wearing the
traditional veil after having hidden it from the world.

And now it's your turn, What do you think?

In a break with royal tradition, the groom is to have a best man -his brother, Prince Harry- rather than a supporter, while the bride has chosen her sister, Pippa, as maid of honour. The couple had four bridesmaids and two page boys. After the religious ceremony, William and Catherine left Westminster Abbey as a married couple and travelled along the wedding procession route to Buckingham Palace as shown in the map.

Now, Prince William and Catherine are Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
This is the famous family photo in the balcony at Buckingham Palace. How odd! ;)

And they lived happily ever after... TO BE CONTINUED!

What is a FLASHMOB?

Would you like to participate in a flashmob?
Definition: a flashmob is a group of people who suddenly join together in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes funny dance for a brief time and then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment or advertisement.
This is an example which took place in Liverpool
St. Underground Station in London.
Can you find some more examples? Do you like them? Why or Why not?
Don't be shy and post a comment!

Irregular verbs are VERY important in English

In English, it is important to learn all the irregular verbs. Here you have some links to funny activities in order to revise them at home, ok?

This is the typical list you should know by heart. The LIST...
A quiz could be a good way to revise what you have learnt.
A game to bet your partners, because two players are needed.

It's your turn to look for more activities in the web. Post a comment with the interesting online resources you may find!

Happy San Patrick's Day!!

St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

Pancake Day!

In the United Kingdom and Ireland,
Shrove Tuesday is more commonly known as
Pancake Tuesday or Pancake Day.

Pancakes are associated with the day preceding Lent because they were a way to use up rich foodstuffs such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent. In many cultures, this means no meat, dairy, or eggs.

These pancakes look yummy! Would you like to celebrate Pancake Day?

A BIG Welcome to my blog!

Hello everybody!
Welcome to this English blog, which aims to help my students
(and no students as well) to develop
practical skills for understanding and learning English in a funny and useful way.

Although you all know who am I, here you have some pictures of my
lovely husband and me in our last première in Hollywood!

 I hope you like them!

And now, a picture with the rest of the cast. We had such a great time all together! Don't you think I am a very good actress?
